So i've been mewing for a week now and I have noticed my overbite might be coming back a slight bit. I wear retainers off and on even before mewing and they usually fit a little tight but worked nonetheless. With mewing and without retainers, I've noticed that my bottom front teeth are touching the back of my upper front teeth. I went back to my retainers, now my teeth don't touch as much. So to mew without retainers or to mew?

So first off, mewing should not cause any negative changes in your bite or overbite, and if it is, it could be an indication that you are not doing it correctly or applying too much pressure.
All bottom teeth as supposed to be a little behind the oper teeth. But if you do have an overbite, going from mewing to the retainer to mewing, is definitely not the way to go.
You either should reassess your mewing, or you need to keep wearing your retainer!
